Fishing Adventures are going to Aurakun! This truly remote and untouched region
is located on the Western Coast of Cape York and has some of the best fishing
in Australia.
We have managed to secure the use of MV Pikkuw to fish the
Archer, Watson and Love systems. The Pikkuw has been custom built with your comfort
in mind, being fully air conditioned and with a large covered BBQ area on the
top deck, giving you a great place to relax with a cold drink and relive the day's
events. This sports fishing playground is accessed by air via a ninety
minute flight from Cairns and transfers you to the mother ship which is only one
kilometer from Aurukun airport. Just 3 hours from leaving Cairns you'll
be fishing this very unique location, from blue water and reef areas across vast
flats and up into large river systems, which are all easily accessible from our
mother ship. This area is a must do for anglers seeking some of the best blue
water and Barramundi fishing available in Northern Australia! More recently
of interest to fly-fishing anglers is the huge schools of Milkfish readily available
and caught in this area thanks to the pioneering of Steve Jeston. These critters
are of worldwide interest to fly fishers and double hookups are common in this
part of the world. Steve is a full time sportfishing guide who has had clients
from all over the world fish this great area of Australia. His expertise is second
to none in the business and the never ending glowing reports from his many satisfied
clients confirms his dedication to the sport of fishing.
Accommodation
is in twin share cabins with six anglers maximum. Two anglers are guided per boat
which makes for good service and ample opportunity per angler. Meals are
excellent and the vessel has a liquor license. Simply pre order your alcoholic
beverages and it will be waiting on the mother ship on your arrival. Mud crabs
are plentiful as well so these are featured highly on the menu along with fresh
fish of varying species. |
